DANIEL (10 of 10): Delayed answers to prayers

As we wrap up our study of Daniel, among other things in this chapter, we’ll see the angel Gabriel’s explanation of how Satan can interrupt God’s answers to prayer.  Maybe when we think God hasn’t heard us and hasn’t answered, we’re blaming the wrong person.  We’ll investigate.

DANIEL (9 of 10): The prayer and Prophecy of Daniel

Today's study features two distinct but interrelated elements—the prayer and prophecy of Daniel. 

Daniel’s prayer shows that sometimes righteous people have to confess the sins of unrighteous people in their petition to God.  The second part of the chapter relates to one of the most important prophecies of the Old Testament—Daniel’s prophecy of the 70 weeks.  We’ll see what this means for the future.

In today’s study of Daniel, we’ll investigate two more beasts, a ram and a goat, and see their importance for the future.  We’ll also talk about the career of Antiochus Epiphanes and suggest how this historical figure foreshadows future events.

Today we enter the prophetic portion of the book of Daniel with his vision of four great beasts.  We’ll interpret what these beasts mean and focus on the Ancient of Days and the Son of Man, two great images of God in the book of Daniel.

Today's study in Daniel is all about God and His ability to either keep us from trouble or keep us in it.  It’s also about the character of God and His fame in the hearts of even pagans when they get a glimpse of that character.  When we’re in our lion’s den, only God can get us out.

When God wants our attention, He has a way of getting it!  The message on the palace wall certainly captured King Belshazzar’s attention.  What did it mean and what will God use to get our attention?  We’ll see the importance of a humble heart before God.

Today’s study is about a king who had become “too big for his britches”.  It is the story of Nebuchadnezzar’s power and humiliation and how God’s mercy was there throughout.  It’s a good reminder that without God, we are no more than animals ourselves.

One of the most riveting stories in the Old Testament is the story of the three Jewish teens who were thrown into the Babylonian furnace. Today, with the help of Dr. Woodrow Koll, we’ll learn that we are never alone, even when our lives are at their worst.  God will never leave us nor forsake us...  That’s His promise.

Today's study focuses on the dreams of a pagan king, how Daniel was enabled by God to interpret those dreams and how Daniel was honoured by a pagan king.  Through it all, Daniel never claimed any credit for himself...

Many of us know Daniel as that Super Bible Hero from our childhood … but have you revisited Daniel lately? You’ll be amazed at the relevance of his life’s story!  Today we’ll look both at the deportation of Daniel and his friends into hostile land, and his undying devotion to God through it all.  Bible Teacher Woodrow Kroll will help us understand how God blesses those who remain faithful to Him.
