Yesterday we started our look at 30 lessons on Effective Leadership coming from the book of Nehemiah... Today we conclude our study of Nehemiah looking at the 15 remaining lessons... For your convenience, all 30 are listed below.
THIRTY LESSONS ON LEADERSHIP FROM NEHEMIAH
- Effective leaders have clean hands and pure hearts. (Nehemiah 1:4-7)
- Effective leaders have a sense of calling from God (Nehemiah 2:12).
- Effective leaders wait patiently for God's timing. (Nehemiah 1:1, 2:1)
- Effective leaders establish reasonable and attainable goals. (Nehemiah 2:3)
- Effective leaders make prayer a priority in their lives. (Nehemiah 2:4)
- Effective leaders rearrange their priorities in order to accomplish their goals. (Nehemiah 2:5)
- Effective leaders act decisively when it's time. (Nehemiah 2:5-8)
- Effective leaders take time to rest, to plan, to pray, to think. (Nehemiah 2:11)
- Effective leaders are personally acquainted with their task. (Nehemiah 2:13)
- Effective leaders make shrewd use of their time. (Nehemiah 2:12-13)
- Effective leaders surround themselves with trusted allies. (Nehemiah 2:12-16)
- Effective leaders provide vision for the people. (Nehemiah 2:17)
- Effective leaders involve a broad-based work team in the work. (Nehemiah 2:17)
- Effective leaders never waver in the face of opposition. (Nehemiah 2:19-20)
- Effective leaders execute their plan to accomplish their goal. (Nehemiah 3:1-28)
- Effective leaders take emergency action when necessary. (Nehemiah 4:8-9,22)
- Effective leaders are very visible and approachable. (Nehemiah 4:12)
- Effective leaders are great motivators of people. (Nehemiah 4:14)
- Effective leaders manage their resources well. (Nehemiah 4:16-18)
- Effective leaders verbalize their dependence on God's help. (Nehemiah 4:20)
- Effective leaders are not afraid to get their hands dirty. (Nehemiah 4:22-23)
- Effective leaders take care of their people financially. (Nehemiah 5:1-11)
- Effective leaders personally sacrifice to accomplish their goal. (Nehemiah 5:17)
- Effective leaders refuse to live above their people. (Nehemiah 5:14-16)
- Effective leaders don't hesitate to discipline inappropriate behaviour. (Nehemiah 5:6-8)
- Effective leaders have a great view of the value of their own work. (Nehemiah 6:1-3)
- Effective leaders display integrity before everyone. (Nehemiah 6:5-8)
- Effective leaders show discernment in dealing with people. (Nehemiah 6:12-13)
- Effective leaders attribute their success to God. (Nehemiah 6:15-16)
- Effective leaders keep their promises. (Nehemiah 2:6, compare 13:6)

Well, we could all use a few lessons in leadership, so today we'll cover 15 of the 30 lessons in leadership from the book of Nehemiah with Bible Teacher Woodrow Kroll.
