If the Bible seems like a big, thick, non-understandable book to you, maybe you're trying to relate to it in the wrong way.  Try to find the meaning of the message by standing back and looking at the trees, getting a sense of the lay of the land, getting to know the main characters, or receiving God's Word as a personal message to you, a love letter from God.  We'll ease the problems in relating to the big, thick book.

Getting Guidance from God’s Word: Three Distinctions Necessary to Understand the Bible (05-05)

Today as we wrap up our short series, Getting Guidance from God's Word, Bible Teacher Woodrow Kroll reminds us that in order to understand God's Word correctly, we must make distinctions between three sets of things. They are:

1. the distinction between Israel and the Church;
2. the distinction between Law and Grace; and
3. the distinction between the believer's standing and the believer's state.

We'll see what each of these means and why these three distinctions are important in using God's Word as our guide in life.
